Covid 19 Update:
We have remained opened to seeing patients in my Norwich office and are back to in person check in, check out, surgical scheduling, etc. Masks are still required but day to day office functions have otherwise returned to the way they were before Covid.
Still concerned about coming in? No problem. I am still offering Telehealth visits to patients who need or prefer them. My office walks you through the setup and we connect by video conference for your appointment.

Who I AmI am a medical doctor certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties to practice Urology. As one of five Urologists for the Eastern Connecticut branch of Hartford Healthcare Medical Group Urology, I operate out of William Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT. Born and raised in Massachusetts, I am a New England native. In 1996 I graduated from college at the University of Vermont. For medical school I graduated from Boston University which provided a solid medical foundation and early exposure to Urology. Following that, my internship and residency were done at the University of Iowa under the tutelage of the renowned and now deceased Dr. Richard Williams. Upon completion of training, I moved back to New England with my family and initially practiced at a small hospital in Maine before landing at William Backus Hospital.
I practice general Urology with special interests in prostate disorders, male and female incontinence, bladder dysfunction, Urologic oncology, minimally invasive procedures, and robotic surgery. At Backus Hospital, we were one of the first hospitals in the state to acquire the latest daVinci robot, the Xi, and have been utilizing that for all of our robotic cases with great results. Backus Hospital continues to lead the way for robotic surgery and I am proud to serve as not only the Chief of Urology but also as the Director of Robotic Surgery. By continually staying updated with the ever changing tides of medicine, I offer the latest state of the art diagnostic and therapeutic Urologic treatment options. Click here to see the full array of services I am able to offer my patients. With a supportive hospital behind me (Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut) I have access to the latest technology available in Urology. I stay current in the cutting edge fields, such as robotic surgery and rapidly evolving laser technologies. This now includes targeted prostate biopsies using MRI / ultrasound fusion technology! It also includes enhanced cystoscopy which can increase the detection rate for bladder cancer and decrease recurrences at time of resection. |
